A security door should be built from solid metal, and it should also be able to withstand the most violent and high-powered fire, says a new report from security firm RSA.
The firm’s latest report, released on Wednesday, found that the majority of homes built in the UK in 2017 were vulnerable to a range of attack types, and that many of these doors were poorly built, lacking fire resistance, and lacking key features that could make them more resilient.
The report also found that most of the security door systems in use today are too expensive and complicated to maintain.
“Many homes today are not designed to withstand these types of attacks, as they often lack sufficient fire and security systems to handle them,” said John Soper, chief operating officer of RSA Security.
“While many fire-retardant materials and security doors are common, some are not.
This makes them susceptible to attack, which is why a range have to be built with fire resistance in mind.”
The firm also found an increasing number of people were putting their security doors at risk, and in some cases, simply using them to make their homes less attractive.
“We also see more and more homes being put in the position of having to replace their security door,” Soper said.
“This could be through replacing the lock or locking system, or replacing the exterior security and alarm systems.”
Security is not just about fire and other elements The RSA report also noted that many home owners have not yet installed adequate fire resistance into their security systems, which means their home is more vulnerable to fire and high temperatures, such as from a fire, than they thought.
“Security door companies often use standard fire-resistance material, which includes PVC, and these materials often have limited durability,” Satur said.
But that doesn’t mean these materials don’t have their uses.
“Some fire-resistant materials, such in-door lighting, can also be used in security doors to provide additional security,” he said.
Security doors are also prone to being damaged, especially by high temperatures and sparks.
“A fire in a security door can be extremely dangerous.
In some cases the door can easily crack, or the metal can melt,” Sopor said.
If your home has a security system installed that’s vulnerable to attack The RSA Security report also warns that some of the most common security door attacks are also the least likely to result in damage to the system, even when they do cause damage.
“The most common attack is an electric shock.
This is when a fire breaks out in a house or a building and can cause damage to either the house or the system.
In addition, in many cases, a fire in the house can cause the whole system to fail,” Sopers said.
There are also some very real risks involved when it comes to security door security.
“When a fire destroys a door, the home can lose its ability to use the doors and it can then become vulnerable to theft, burglary and vandalism,” he added.
“So it is important that when the doors are being used, that the system can protect them from the risk of fire and damage.”
As well as being a great way to help people to improve their security, this new report also recommends that all home owners and landlords install fire-defence systems that are designed to be able withstand high temperatures as well as the elements, as well.
“It is important to have a system in place to protect all your systems against the elements,” Sopes said.
