A new generation of security door hinges has been announced by a leading manufacturer, with new hinges designed for the first time in the UK.
Wooden security door guards can be fitted with a variety of hardware to help keep them secure.
In the UK, wood security doors are often sold as a DIY project, but many manufacturers have been making the hardware in-house, using 3D printing.
New hinges, which will be available in both black and white, feature a combination of metal plates, plastic and rubber to help ensure they are secure to the door frame.
As well as the hinges, the locks also have a lock pin to prevent accidental opening.
The UK government is making a number of changes to the way locks are made.
There are also plans to replace locks on vehicles with self-locking systems that can be activated by the driver.
These include changing the way the locks are locked to allow the car to automatically unlock, and adding a digital fingerprint reader.
