A couple of years ago, I was on a date with my best friend’s girlfriend when the light bulb went off.
It was around 7:30am, and I was asleep in bed, not fully aware of the looming threat of a burglar breaking in and taking everything.
I wasn’t ready for it, and for a moment I wasn.
It’s been a year since that night, and the burglary threat has not abated.
I’m not the only one to have felt the heat of a security door breaking in.
A number of recent incidents have made headlines in the UK, including one in which a man was seriously injured after a home invasion.
There are also reports of a woman in London being robbed while she was in bed with her boyfriend, and an 18-year-old man was robbed in Leeds in March.
But the number of people in the US who have been robbed while in their homes at night is far greater.
And yet the number is on the rise.
In 2015, there were 1,933 reported burglaries in the U.S., according to the FBI.
That’s up from 1,633 in 2014, but it’s still well below the nearly 2 million burglaries reported annually in the United Kingdom.
But it’s not because we’re not aware of it.
We’re not even aware that there are people who are getting robbed at night.
We know because we’ve experienced it ourselves.
When it comes to security doors, we’re in the minority.
We don’t even know how many people are out at night, let alone how many of them are getting burgled.
We also don’t know if these types of incidents are connected, or whether people are simply getting more cautious.
It could be a combination of both.
One of the main reasons why there is a lack of research on this topic is because there’s not a lot of research.
There’s a lot that we know, but the data doesn’t really support a link between burglaries and the types of locks we use.
The American Association of Home Security Engineers (AAHSE) does a good job of collecting data on lock types and how they are being used.
The locks that we use are not the same types that we see in the headlines, either.
For example, the HomeLock brand locks are not necessarily used for home security, but they are used in the bedroom, in closets, in the basement, and even in bathrooms.
There may also be different types of safes and locks that are being installed in homes across the country.
But we’re still limited in what we can find.
And, of course, there are still cases where people have been victimized.
“We don’t have an accurate number, and we have no way to know how often these incidents occur,” says Adam Sauer, the chief technology officer for HomeLock.
“But we’re working on it.”
The AAHSE has teamed up with the American Home Improvement Association (AHA) to create a database of data on locks, to help educate homeowners.
But even with the new research and data collection, there’s no way for us to be certain if it’s really linked to security measures in our homes.
“If someone has an old, broken, and/or poorly maintained home, and there’s a good chance it’s going to be used as a target, then you need to take precautions,” says Sauer.
“And if that person is a victim, they need to be held accountable.”
For example: There’s no data on the number and types of home burglaries that happen at night in the States, and no one knows how common it is for people to be attacked while in bed at night because the statistics on lock type aren’t necessarily comparable across the United States.
In fact, there is one study that has found that the majority of burglaries happen in the morning.
“It’s an underreported crime,” says the AHA’s Sauer of the increased number of burglars.
“People aren’t thinking about locking up at night.”
The HomeLock app is a tool for homeowners to find locks that may be available at the time of the crime.
“A lot of these things, the people who have them don’t realize they’re actually a security measure,” says a spokesperson for the AAH.
“The fact that they are available at night and not locked up when you’re out is really a deterrent to people.
People can be scared at night,” says Sarah Shumaker, the director of communications for HomeGuard, a national organization that represents home security professionals.
HomeGuard’s website is also full of information on locks.
It includes a list of commonly used locks, the lock brand, the manufacturer, and other relevant information.
But, because of the lack of data, the AHESA does not compile this information into an official database.
And there’s another problem with this.
Because the information is hard to collect, there isn’t a reliable way for home
